About Lake ·

Is Lake legit? Here is who makes it and how it works.

Lake: Spending Tracker is a live iPhone app and website at lakefin.net. It connects to your bank or card through Plaid and shows the places you return to and what a visit there usually costs. This page covers who makes Lake, what it does with your bank data, what it costs, and how to reach us.

Who makes Lake

Lake is made by Lake Financial, the trade name of Rieper LLC, an Indiana limited liability company.

Lake: Spending Tracker has been on the U.S. App Store since October 14, 2026. The App Store lists Rieper LLC as the seller.

Mailing address: Rieper LLC, c/o Registered Agents Inc, 5534 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835.

What Lake does and doesn't do with your bank data

Bank and card connections go through Plaid. You sign in to your bank in Plaid's window or on your bank's own page. Lake never receives or stores your bank username or password.

Plaid gives Lake an access token, which Lake encrypts before storing and uses only to fetch your account data: account details, balances and transactions, and for supported accounts, holdings and loan terms.

Lake does not hold your money, move your money or make transactions. Lake is not a bank, lender, broker or investment adviser, and nothing in Lake is financial advice.

Lake does not sell your personal information and does not share your financial data with advertisers. Lake's public web pages use Google Analytics and Meta's ad measurement pixel. No linked-account or financial data is sent to Meta, and the Meta pixel doesn't load when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

You can unlink an institution in Settings at any time, or delete your Lake account. When you delete your account, Lake asks Plaid to remove each connection and deletes your active records. The privacy policy covers backups and billing records. See how account deletion works.

How bank linking works

  1. Get Lake for iPhone from the App Store.
  2. Start Premium, or the 1-month free trial through Apple if you're a new subscriber. Connecting banks is part of Premium.
  3. Connect a supported bank or card through Plaid.
  4. Lake reads the transaction history your institution makes available and shows your usual places.

Apple decides trial eligibility and shows the price and renewal terms before you start. Apple charges when the trial ends unless you cancel first.

What Lake costs

Free: your Lake account and the history already in it stay free. In the iPhone app, Free shows up to five usual places on Home, monthly budgets, and two new goals each calendar month. Connecting a bank needs Premium or its trial.

Premium: $79.99/year or $9.99/month in the iPhone app, with a 1-month free trial through Apple for new subscribers. Premium adds bank linking, the full list of usual places, unlimited goals, monthly reports and insights.

Premium renews until you cancel. See pricing for the full plan comparison.

How to cancel

If you started Premium in the iPhone app, cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings.

If you subscribed on lakefin.net, cancel from the billing portal in Settings.

Canceling stops renewal at the end of the current paid period. Your Lake account and history stay. Refunds are covered in the Terms of Service.
